Presidential Palace and Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School (BFM)
A rare look inside the headquarters of the President of the Republic of Estonia!
Echoing the style of the Petrine Baroque Kadriorg Palace, the presidential palace’s grand building was purpose-built in 1938. It’s usually closed to visitors, but luckily they made an exception for the participants of YOUTHCONF. For one afternoon we can get an intimate look into the daily life of the head of the state.
A tour around BFM’s new building. In addition to Estonia’s first 4K cinema hall and lecture rooms, the building also houses a modern production complex with a film studio, a television studio, sound studios, editing rooms and MEDITaka The Centre of Excellence in Media Innovation and Digital Culture where cultural change and innovation processes that accompany digital media are fathomed. Participants are also invited to play around with MEDIT Creative Lab’s VR gear. Participants are also invited to play around with MEDIT’s Creative Lab’s VR gear.

Telliskivi Urban Walk
Telliskivi Creative City is a revamped complex of 11 old industrial buildings (formerly the Baltic Railways factory) and a defining feature of the hip Kalamaja district that has become a magnet for all kinds of creative enterprises and activities. Once literally on the wrong side of the tracks, this set of abandoned buildings is now Tallinn’s most vibrant shopping and entertainment precinct, with offices, cafes, craft beer bars, graffiti walls, artist studios, food trucks and concept stores. Something new seems to pop up here every week.
On the urban walk we will open the doors of buildings, design offices and start-ups; the past and the future.
